We spent again our time meaningfully and we shared many ideas and helpful tips with each other J.
1. Review of our visit to our British Twin Club and an energy saving house in Brussels
Our members, Edina & Kristóf reported on their journey in Fownhope, England where our twin club is located. They are running two interesting and inspiring projects:
Edina & Kristóf also visited a renovated energy efficient house in Brussels and brought us some good ideas that are worthy of note before we embark on a building operations.
2. Produce by yourself! – Course for organic crops growing
We had invited Matthew Hayes, who is a member of the local Open Garden Association. Matthew told us of their new project in which they organize practical and short courses on home gardening in their training garden.
The curriculum included: organic vegetable and fruit growing, composting, garden design, poultry-farming, cultivation by horse, beekeeping.
3. Tree-planting action
GreenDependent hosted an international conference in June where the organizers collected donations to neutralize the carbon dioxide emissions of the event. This obtained amount enabled us to buy 45 native fruit trees.
Thanks to the cooperation with the Municipality, 10 trees had been distributed to the winner households of the 'Clean Yard - Tidy House Godollo 2012’ title.
However, the remaining 35 pieces search loving owners among the member of the club who can guarantee a long-term caretaking of the trees.
4. Energy-saving at home without investment
Three of the families who had performed the best in the ‘Kislábnyom’ (Small Footprint) competition last year in Godollo reported on their best practices according to the following topics:
1. What helped you to save the most energy?
2. Which are the most efficient practices?
3. How can we involve the members of the family?
