Minutes – English summary
After a little break but full of new energy, we started our last meeting of the year of 2011. Mulled wine and cookies helped us to come up with ideas for 2012. J
First of all – after a quick introduction because of new visitors – Edina summarized the activities we had undertaken during the year and emphasized the most important ones. We had good memories about the garage sale we organized in April, about movies watched together and about our big meeting in September which we organized partly under the frame of the KLIKK project.
After this introduction we discussed specific events and campaigns - like the founding of a new club for bicyclists who live in Gödöllő. Csaba Laurán told us about the recent situation of bicyclists in Gödöllő and what the municipality could do to promote more convenient and comfortable cycling in Gödöllő and what we should do to promote it. Some people indicated their intention to join to the club, to help in its establishment and to popularize the using of bicycles this way.
After discussing these events, we had tea and fruit with some homemade cake. In parallel we started to collect thoughts about activities and plans for 2012. We collected our wishes about visits we would like to make and topics would we like to hear about.
The list of wishes which was prepared includes the following items:
· to visit Zöld Híd (Green Bridge) regional waste management system,
· to collect “green” movies and design a lending system for them,
· prepare new home energy audits,
· to write articles about waste management system,
· to collect plastic bottle caps again (there is a scheme in which collecting caps helps raise money for disadvantaged people),
· there was high demand for plant and seed swapping, and
· we thought about developing a garden or orchard together.
We agreed on one thing immediately: we will organize a barbecue again in 2012! J
Later, we discussed topics we would like to have presentations about. We decided to invite speakers to give us more information about:
· composting (we can learn always new things about this),
· biological plant protection (control) which we can use in our kitchen gardens,
· the potential for local energy production, or
· any kind of issues which can help us to implement positive environmental changes into our daily lives,
· using biogas in households (we know about one example in Gödöllő),
· learning about mushrooms
Meanwhile it would be good to garden and exchange ideas and experiences together. J
The date of our next club meeting is 25 January 2012; the place is not settled yet.
We wish a warm welcome to our new members and we hope old members will keep up their participation in the club!
